Justification by Faith

Justified by Faith Pt8

Romans 3: 28, “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.” (NASB)
Now this should put down any idea of works having anything to with justification. This is another slap in the face of man; we so desperately want to add in our Salvation that we would even go the extreme and willfully disobey God and call it total obedience, Isaiah 64: 6.

Please don’t walk away in thinking that we don’t need to keep the Commandments, get water baptized, take the Lord’s Supper, and do good deeds. We should and must do our part in the Kingdom Continue reading

Justified by Faith Pt7

Romans 3: 27, “Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No but by a law faith.” (NASB)

This verse speaks to those of us that think that we can do something to earn the Righteousness of God. The grace of God is a free gift. Free means that we can not pay for it. The Apostle Paul was talking to the Jews who use the fact that they had the Law which was their works. But if works could earn grace, then grace isn’t free.

Salvation is something that man can not boast about obtaining for himself and the very idea of it makes man excluded from it. This is one of the main reasons why the Cross of Christ offends people. Continue reading

Justified by Faith Pt6

Romans 3: 26, “for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” (NASB)
The previous verse speaks to the sinners under the Law, now this verse speaks to us. Since God is Just and the Justifier we that believe are imputed with Christ’s righteousness through our faith.

Mercy and truth are so met together, righteousness and peace have so kissed each other, Continue reading

Justified by Faith Pt5

Romans 3: 25, “whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His Blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;” (NASB)
The big word in this verse is propitiation; it is the act of getting rid of the sin that… Continue reading

Justified by Faith Pt4

Romans 3: 24, “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus ;”(NASB)
Justified in the Greek means we are declared ‘not guilty’ by God. Freely carries the promise that any payment presented by the sinner not only is not accepted, but nullifies that which God has given freely. Ephesians 2: 9, “not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”(NASB)

Grace in Greek signified a favor done out of the spontaneous generosity of the heart without any expectation of return. When the Greeks exhibited grace, this favor of whatever nature was always done to one’s friend, never to an enemy. Continue reading
