Throughout the Pauline epistles we find the phrase, put on Christ or some variation. When we here this we think of ‘The Amour of God‘ from Ephesians. But it has a deeper meaning then what we have been taught. What I have found in my studies will bless you as it has been blessing me. Some of us can recite Ephesians 6: 10- 20 with no problem and many yet can draw us a picture and show us what it looks like from the amour of a Roman guard, formed from where Paul got his inspiration from. But as the Holy Spirit was dealing with me about an issue in my life He dropped this into my spirit with such a force as only He can do. And it just wouldn’t let me go. As always, I will give it to you as the Holy Spirit gave it to me.

I was in my normal study time, I started with 1 Peter 5: 8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour:” then the Lord echoed this my spirit, “Be vigilant.”. We already know that soldiers are vigilant, because when you stand vigilant you stand on the guard and every watchful. Now that the Lord had my attention, I was taken to Ephesians 6, the Amour of God passage where He had me to look at what we are to put on; truth and righteousness in verse 14, peace in verse 15, faith in verse 16, and salvation and the Spirit in verse 17. The Lord brought these out to me for a reason that at the time I couldn’t see until He caused me to run the scriptural reference. Look at what I found.

Having your loins girt about you with TRUTH, go to John 14: 6 where the Lord Jesus tells us that He is the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but by Him. Connect the dots, Jesus is the truth we are to put on. Girt is past tense of gird which means to encircle or fasten. I thought I knew where the loins were but after looking them up in the dictionary I now know that it is our pubic region and our reproductive area. So it would seem that, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, when the Apostle Paul is giving us the command to get dress out in the Lord Jesus the first garment is for us to place our manhood and lady parts in Christ for their proper use.

Having on the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS, takes us to 1 Corinthians 1: 30. But of Him are we in Christ Jesus, Who God made for to our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, redemption. Which means that when we are in Christ we have a right standing with God. Now this right standing that we have with God is placed on our heart because that’s what the breastplate guards. The breast is where the seat of emotion and where thoughts are birthed. In Christianity we call this the heart of man. The next piece of clothing in our Christian wear is our right standing with God through the Cross of Christ.

Feet shod with preparation of the gospel of PEACE, because of our justification through faith in Christ Jesus we have peace God. Romans 5: 1 show where our peace comes from. Before our justification, we were at enmity with God not the other way around as some would tell us. That’s why Word of God tells us that God so loved us that He gave. This verse goes to prove that God wants us to seek His Face. To shod in an old fashion way of saying put your shoes on, that’s it. The Holy Spirit is telling us to walk in the good news of the peace that we have with God through Christ and Him Crucified.

Let see where the LORD has us. Go over to Romans 13: 11- 14 and understand that this is a call to action. Twice this passage told us to put on: Put on the amour of light and put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Now I’m going to put this to where the babes can get to it. We have our pants on so now we are not doing ‘that’ anymore. Our mind, thoughts, emotions, and feelings are in right standing with God. We have on our shoes of faith so that we can walk in the peace that was purchased for us at the Cross. So now we have three more pieces of amour so we can go to battle for the Cause of Christ.

Taking the shield of FAITH, makes more sense if we have something to hang our faith on. We make our faith so complicated and spooky. When somebody asks you, “Okay, being a Christian, what do you believe in?” If say more than I believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary to save me from eternity in hell and He did the same for you if you believe, than you probably don’t have the faith that God will honor. And you need to check yourself. Hebrews 11: 1, is a notable quotable but do you really know what it means? This is what I got: Faith is to take the reality of what Christ Jesus did at the Cross and make it real in my heart. The shield is what is used to hide with when the battle gets a little hot and heavy. How else do you expect to live, Habakkuk 2: 4.

Take the helmet of SALVATION, which is our Lord Jesus. The ministry of Jesus was to save us from our Sin Nature. While watching my father clean and repack his ruck sack, I asked him a crazy question, “What is your helmet for?” He told me to put on, so I did. Then he made sure it was on securely; it was sort of uncomfortable and cumbersome. After a few minutes he told me to pass him something that was behind me, I turned and he hit me in the head; hard. With a little bit of ringing in my ears I retreated to place far away from him. Then I saw what he had used, it was his little shovel. “Son, this shovel can crack your skull wide open with just that one blow but the helmet gave you enough protect to get out of the line of fire and think about what’s your next plan of action.” The enemy is coming for our heads and we need to have Christ on the brain so we can have enough sense to get out and plan the attack.

The sword of the SPIRIT, which is the word of God. The Word was made into flesh and dwelt among us, John 1: 14. A sword is used for both defense and offense. But when to use it? Well there the rub, use Him all the time. I have personally found that we worship an all weather God. What do you need, He’s got it. Paul found out that there’s enough in Christ for all our needs, 2 Corinthians 12: 9. The help that comes from God in the name of Jesus is sufficient, good enough. And just so you know, it takes a humble vessel to wheeled this sword. There is no room for arrogance in the combat because battle is not ours.

Look at verse Ephesians 6: 12, “For we wrestle not with flesh and blood … but against spiritual wickedness in high places.” When it’s time for battle; you have to have your shoes laced up tight, your belt on right, put something in you hands and put your helmet on right and tight cause it’s going to be a long night. The Word of God is very clear about the fact that we need to put on the Lord Jesus, but I know where we fall short, Jesus isn’t gonna feel right if we still have on our old man or woman. I would like wearing a new suit with same funky, nasty drawers on, but think they are our lucky drawers. After awhile the stench of the old clothes will come through, and now you look good but nobody wants to be around you.

Colossians 3: 5- 10, tell us to mortify and put away our old ways, put off the old self with his deeds and then put on the new man which know is Christ Jesus. I know it sounds hard, well that’s because we like to do the old deeds. I know, I am still pulling off the old man but I am replacing him with the New Man. Be vigilant because the enemy is waiting for a shot to take us out but I thank God for allowing me the chance to to put on the Lord.

As odd as this may sound, this is a true story. In the November of 1996 I was not a good dude because I am telling the truth I was gun toting hooligan in the Lake Edward section of Virginia Beach, Va. In was living at one of my lowest time and the leader of a band of lives. We were known for a lot of things but our spiritual connection to the Most High was diffidently not one of the lines on our resume. There is one night that stands out in my mind for the reason that will be obvious to you after the tale has been spun.

Because I have respect for the guys that where with me in regards to the fact that they might not want me telling about their past sins, I’ll just say that on this night there were about four to six of my cohorts in attendance with me on this night. While the brothers and I were on the corner of West Hasting Arch and Red Horse passing around the blunt and the usually convocation of what we going to be when we get the chances to…, I observed one the only brothers in Lake Ed that didn’t have toe in dirt.

He was the father of a family of girls, three including his wife. We always in an unconscious way don’t bothering them. If we saw his daughters wondering too far from their front door, we would tell the little angels that they Mommy might be looking for them. Even though his wife was thick as duck butter, we never approached her in disrespect. And when we say him we just gave him the brother man head nod and one finger, Sup?

This night was not different for the others brother but it was different for this brother, me. I was tried. Not so much physical but emotionality. See I was living with a woman that was on my last nervous and I was giving her gas money to get there. I was just out of jail for driving on suspended license, yeah they can lock you up for that. I had more enemies then friend and had no friends. The brothers that I was out with weren’t friends but temporary allies in a war that had no sides or purpose. We were only together to keep on eye on one another; the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Our attire was identical down to the hardware that we were carrying; leather jackets, fashion hoodies, dark skull caps, dark jeans, assorted styles of boots, and fully loaded hand-guns, 9mm’s and .40 calibers. Our convocations were laced with profanity and lies.

During this time in my life I was claiming to be Five Percent Muslim on the teachings of the Hon. Min. Louis Farrakhan. And if he would have came up to us, he would told us that in all of his teachings he told us that this was what he was telling in the strictest words not to do. But I digress.

As we were literally chilling in the November frigid air, I caught glimpse of the square brother in the his daughter’s room. He was playing airplane for bed time. Now here’s where you might not believe me but please do. Time slowed down, I was actually starring into his home. Wondering what that life was like. What it like to hear your seeds giggle and laugh? What did sound to your seeds tell you that they loved you? And the big question; what was it like to have woman that you could trust?

I dripped my head and did something that we all know today as a prayer but then it was just a fantasy thought, “I want to be like the dude, someday.” I had no really concept on faith talk; Name It & Claim It, Blab It & Grab It or what every I say in faith God has to get behind. But what I really doing was putting into play a spirituality law found in 2 Corinthians 12: 10. I didn’t necessarily want to be like him but I didn’t want to be like me anymore.

Now this would be a pretty dull story if you didn’t know what happen in the years from there to here. And if you have been reading my articles for a while then you know the best way I can teach you about the Love of GOD is to show you through my eyes. June 20, 2010 is the date of this article and my fourth Father’s Day. To keep it real, my son is running from the front door to the back door with his Thomas the Train blanket as his cape, Hallelujah. Abram walked around the wilderness with one Word from God. I never told God that I would do anything if He give me a life worth living, He just did it so that my life would be worth living and now I live it it for HIM. To the best the of my ability.

I walked around the wilderness of America with one Word. “Wait a minute Brother Ambe, God didn’t tell you that He would give a family. You just said it was a just a thought.” See the mere fact the I got tried of living a devilish lifestyle and want to be better, was enough for God to move in my life to get me to the point where I could ask properly.

Quick History: June 24, 1998 I met my wife. June 26, 2000 we got married and for seven years we went through Pride and Praise. God broke our pride so we could praise HIM. May 15, 2007 we came face to face with the person that need us to grow up so we could raise him up right in the Lord. And with a big smile I can say that I am that square dude. Hallelujah.

Father’s Day is not one day on the calendar for me, it’s everyday since May 15, 2007 until we are called up by Christ to be with our Heavenly Father.

Dear Heavenly Father thank You for loving me enough to die horrible death on the Cross just to me access to come the Throne of Grace and Mercy to say thank You. Lord that I don’t deserve this beautiful life You have Blessed me with but I just know that in all my ways I will acknowledge You. Lord I thank You giving me a Word for Your Church ad heart of repentance. Lord I just want to the father that You would have me to be from within Your Will. Lord GOD You are so good because I know I could not give my only begotten son to a world that would not just hate Him but turn His Words into money for their pockets. But at the same time Dear Master I can’t understand why You pulled me out of the pit of my own destroy. But there is Your Amazing Grace at work. I thank You in the name of Jesus for my father who is such good man and a good example of Godly manhood. And for all the father that our playing their positions in their children’s lives and for ones that aren’t softness their heart towards You, Lord. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

The first thing I want to empress on us is; how are we living? When Jesus and his disciples came into town and were immediately met the man with the unclean spirits. This man was not in his right mind nor was he living in the right place or hanging with the right people. I’m going to put this into language that we can understand. Jesus found a man drunk, hanging on the corner with people that were dead in the body and ambition. This man was in and out of jail and out-patient clinics, all the love and interventions could not get through to the man. The brother would sit up late in the night, crying and try his hardest not to go back to the bottle. I personally know how it feels to want not drink liquor and hit drugs anymore but not knowing how to stop. Family and friends would tell me, “Just pray harder and stop hanging with those nobodies over their.” But see if it was that easy then why would we need the Blood of the Lord to run into our lives.

Verse six is my favorite, “BUT when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped Him.” But is a word that cancels out every word prior to it and allow every word after to be the main focus of the episode. The man did three things that prove he didn’t want to be like this, he saw Jesus afar off, stop right there. When you are under the influences of spirits they control your mind and vision but when they come into contact with an spirit that is more powerful then they are they lay down. The man was whipping folk left and right but when he saw Jesus coming down the street, but when he saw the Lord heading his way, but when he saw the Saviour coming down the aisle, he got up and ran. This is ‘Faith in Motion’. The brother saw Jesus coming by here O’ Lord, so he ran to meet Him and began to worship at the Feet of the Master.

Now during the man worshiping of the Son of the Most High, the unclean spirit knew that their time had come and wanted to leave the man. Now after Legion left what happen to the man? In King James Version it states clearly, “… sitting and clothed, and in his right mind:…” Here’s the beauty of the Jesus that I serve, the phrase ‘in his right mind’ in the Greek are formed out of two words but they make one word in the Greek which mean ‘gift of Jehovah’. After we come into a relationship with the Lord Jesus, He sits us down next to Him, clothes us in His Righteousness, then give us a gift that makes the world scared of us.

The world doesn’t want around Jesus because he messes up their money flow. Verses seventeen and eighteen are the verses we are living in today and if we are smart we will see how to deal with people that don’t want us. And the last phrase of eighteen along with nineteen and twenty are how we should act once we have be changed with our encounter with the Master. Is there anybody that when you tell your story to they marvel? You could be telling it wrong or you have not been changed, yet. The man from Decapolis was probably one of those brother that just couldn’t stop talking about the day he met Jesus of Nazareth. I know for a fact that if he was married his wife would have the real story for you. If you don’t believe me ask my wife.

Reading Luke 6: 6- 11 we find a man that was dealt a bad hand. But don’t concentrate on the hand, look at the man and where he is; in Church. Sometimes when we don’t go to church we miss our blessing. We think that if God is going to heal us we need to home in our sick bed so God can find us in our pitiful condition so He will be moved to Move on our behalf. We serve a God of action, Godly Action. Are you in a Godly Territory to receive your blessing from God?

Now look where Jesus was, in Church teaching. How can we get a Word from God if we aren’t in the place where Word is coming forth? Don’t let this bite you too hard, just receive it with the Love it comes to you in. Jesus wasn’t on the web, on tape, DVD, or on T.V. He was at the Church House. When was the last time you were at Church so you can get that fresh manna? Jesus gave the man three Divine commandments, they are for us too but we have to recognize them and do what they say.

Stand up, step out, and stretch forth; yes they sound easy but unless we are willing to allow Jesus to be the Lord of our life these are the most complex instruction every given to mankind. As Christians we get the concept of going to church so we can give the appearance of Holiness. But do we do the things of Holiness? For some of us we got the church attendance part down to a science. Now who are we going there to see? While the Word was going forth the Spirit spoke to the man through the man of God. When was the last time the Word spoke to you? We are suppose to be in a relationship with God, but we are to concern with our relationships in church that we can’t hear from the Lord when He is ready to reveal His Will in our lives.

The Lord Jesus gives two instructions in verse eight that sound a bit redundant, “Rise up, and stand forth in the midst.” Stand up and step out are two actions that we Christians hear a lot, but don’t do unless we think we are going to get some point of pride out of it. As broken as we are from our own prideful lifestyle you would think that when the Lord calls us we should be ready for God to heal us. The last sentence of the verse is the part that we have the problem with, “And the man rose and stood forth.” The man that need the healing heard the voice of the Lord and was obedient to His Calling. Are we obedient to our upward calling in Christ or we waiting for our calling with a position and title?

God only calls the humble and He only uses those who He breaks. Let’s go with the idea of our humility and brokenness is already in the face of the Lord, we become candidate for a healing from the Master. In these six verses we never read, “And Jesus laid hands of the man.” I think we have to many church folk wanting the Lord to touch them and not speak to them. The Lord TOLD the man, “ Stretch out your hand.” The Lord is still telling the man to do something, this is so not talked about the Church today: Acting on the Word of the Lord.

I want to be perfectly understood, God only speaks Bible. If you get a Word from the Lord and it can be confirmed in the Word of God it’s not the from on High, it’s from down below. Take it like you want to but I have got to give you the GOD that I know. Just like verse eight verse ten has the Lord giving the man an instruction and the last sentence is the man being obedient to the Master. Oh how the Church would be this obedient to the Word of the Lord. We just love to make up our own word and pray for the Lord to get behind it. You name me one household where the servants tell the master what to do. What is the name of the kingdom that the lord is subjected to the subjects? 2 Corinthians 5: 17, “Therefore any man that is in Christ is a better man…”

We serve a God that is not obligated to do anything for us, so when He tells us to do something we should do it because we know that all that God does is good. God is more interested in healing us then exalting us. The main reason for Christ to be crucified was to make way for the Holy Spirit in our lives to Glorify the LORD. Salvation is all about healing. Or where you not sick in sin? I know I was sick of sin. The word restore in the Greek means to bring to health and soundness. Is that not what every child of God wants?

The Lord is constantly telling me to stand up on your Faith, take a step out on your Faith in Christ, walk then run the race to I have set before you. We’ve all been dealt a bad hand but the part we all keep forgetting is: We Won. Don’t let the enemy whisper in your ear that he has a better game in town, he is a defeated foe.

In spike of the man’s condition it didn’t stop him from going to church so he could hear a Word of healing from the man of God. While the man was there he was sensitive to the Move of the Spirit and the instructions of the Lord inside the Move. Most importantly the man was obedient to the Word of the Master after He called him out. Then the man got what he came for; his restoration. Child-like faith; get up, come here, do this, and be healed.

We have here before us two vocabulary words; Bless & Curse. Bless in the Greek is to speak well of someone and curse in the Greek is to wish anyone evil or ruin. Well now since the Apostle was speaking to the Christians that lived in Rome and to us, why would the Holy Spirit inspire him to write these words? I mean for what reason would God have tell His Children not to be mean to others, but be nice and kind in our speaking to one other? I mean if we are doing good works powered by the Hoy Spirit why would anybody persecute us? Well probably because He knew that the world and other Christians would hate and disrespect us when we are doing the Will of God.

Now for some us, this goes against who we are. Come on now seriously, when somebody does wrong  something to you and you know that you are doing what God told you to do but they go and put up a  road block in your way, it is time to give them the business. But you see on this side of the Cross we are suppose to have some of the Fruit of the Spirit being develop in our lives. Right?

When the Lord Jesus was being nailed to the cross He didn’t pronounce curses upon the Roman soldiers, no He said, “Father forgive them for they know on what they do.” When Stephen was being stoned to death he prayed, “Lord, lay this not to their charge.” This is where we need to be walking to in our Christian walk. At the crushing times in our lives we need to be developing in the Fruits.

I could look to all these Christians calling government official out there name because of the passing of ‘Obama-Care’. But I am going to look at the one that matter when it comes to me being with my Jesus or a table in the smoking section of eternity, ME. When enough pressure in applied on my head, there is good chance I will tell you actually what’s on my mind. And the last thing I am thinking about doing is pray for my enemy, I pray but the ‘a’ will turn into an ‘e’.

I will be honest in saying that I don’t have it together in the Fruits of the Spirit department but I want to and I will not stop praying for them until I get them. The Epistle of James in chapter 3 talks about the fire and poison that lives in the tongue, I believe the Holy Spirit is talk directly to me in this passage.

Now I believe in blessing people. I think it shows your maturity level in Christ if you have an encouraging word for someone in their time in the pit. Now flipping my the hand over and let’s look at all the dirt I missed, when I’m in the ditch I tend to curse my way out. I know this is unholy and I have no excuse for it so I won’t give you one.

My wife will tell me that I have to much Word in me to still be acting like that, and she is right. When the pressure is on that is when the Fruit is suppose to pop out. Did you know that God allow us to go through trials to show us where we are in Christian Walk? If you look at verses 19 & 20 you will see something that should give you joy.

I know for a fact the whatever God starts He will finish, Philippians 1:6. So being armed with this Word, God took me from being hand thrower during my times of pressure but now I am just mouth; a barking rottweiler behind the fence. God knows my heart is to have the pressure on me and just stay in prayer until the trial in over.

The ability to feed my enemy, give them water when they are thirsty and not, in my mind, calling them every name but a child of God, that’s Fruit at it’s ripest and ready for picking.

I knew while this young brother was singing that I have heard this type of praising before, David the little Shepard boy. We all know the story of David the king of Israel, the mighty man valor, the giant killer, but who can say they know the story about the boy that would pull at the Heart of the LORD out in the field. I can’t say that I know what it was like to be out there in the pasture with those sheep but the Holy Spirit gave me a glimpse into what He saw in the fields all the thousands of years ago.

Samuel Cornell is cute little kid much all the others but when he got up on that electric piano, the Spirit of the LORD showed up. Now beings though I grew up listen the ministries of music just about all my life I think I have a little knowledge about the caliber of musical skill level sound like when it comes to a young person of his age but this young man blow my spiritual mind. As he began to sing and play his praises to the Master, the Spirit came to Christ Unveiled, all took His rightful position as El Shaddai. A revival service is much without a move of the Spirit and we had Him for all five services because young Samuel is an anointed young man with the gift to stir up the saints in the worshiping of God.

As the Spirit moved around touching all those the willed Him to, the LORD took me to the pasture lands of Jesse the Bethlehemite and allowed me to see little David with his harp watching his father sheep and worshiping the Most High. Only concerned with pleasing his God, young David literally sang and played his heart out. And if you were there for all five services you would have seen today’s David, little Samuel doing the same.

I started to tear up with joy at his parents, Bob and Sharon Cornell of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, as they saw how the LORD was using their little man to stir up the hearts of the saints. This is young man has a grand future in front of him because his parents are showing him that the Move of the Holy Spirit is worth more than the wealth of the world.

The attenders of the revival walked out of the sanctuary on one accord knowing that we must run the race set before us with our focus fix on Jesus. Because He sits at the right hand of the Holy One Who is able to abundantly exceedingly above all that we can every fathom and through it all the LAMB of God is worthy to be praised.

Call me odd but as I have read in my Bible the patriarchs didn’t have smart phones, day planner, e-mail reminders or even the Bible all they had was a Word from God. Can we get back to those days, just give me a Word and confirm it by the stars in the sky and the sand on the beach. But wait, we do have a Word, we have a book with sixty-six books full of Word. Just in case you didn’t notice I’m getting a Word right now, you are just getting the benefits.

Now here comes the hard part, turning from our wicked ways. I know, I know you aren’t like one of these monsters on the Internet trolling for kids, you don’t search for a free minute and go to the porn sites, you probably have never smoked, drank, popped a pill, said a curse word, or everything like that. But scripture say all have sinned, and since you are a part of all welcome to the world of wickedness. Wicked is the Hebrew means to break something to pieces so that it can’t be used for anything. So we replace wicked and call it just plain broken. Put your mind in this frame, when Adam and Eve sinned to the Garden they broke their connection to God. And in their broken state they developed wicked ways.

The first thing Adam and Eve lost was their light, this was them loosing their spiritual life. Next they lost their way, they ran from God when they heard Him walking in the cool of the day. Finally, they started lying to covering their wicked ways. Only broken people do these things, wouldn’t you agree? And that is in man to this day and time. Sometime we have to get broken down to nothingness before we allow God a whack at our brokenness. Try this, the next time you make a ‘little mistake’ run directly to the foot of the Cross, the altar; ask for true forgiveness and know that God is faithfully to forgive, then ask for the strength not do it again. Yeah, power not to sin. Read and Study Romans 6, 7, & 8; Paul went through a lot so why don’t we reap the benefits of his life, which is actually the Benefits of the Lord Jesus’ finished work on the Cross.

I know that I don’t have to explain the promises because some of us have heard the sermons about how sweet the life of a Christian is. But not to many preachers talk about the condition of that sweet life. From what I have found in my four years under the Message of the Cross teaching I have seen that once you start leaving the mess of the world alone the Message of the Cross became easy to absorb.

In closing, God desires to heals His people from their wound, even the self inflicted ones, but we have to start acting like His people and His people aren’t puffed up in their own arrogance. Christians should and need prays in the name Jesus, look for the Move and Presence of the Holy Spirit. And most importantly, we are ambassadors of the Kingdom not billboards for the world.

Here are four steps of true Bible Repentance: Humbling of Oneself, Praying, Seeking God’s Face, and Turning from ones evil ways. We can get deep as the ocean and high as the heavens with each one of these but they are so simple and that’s where we are going to go.

Here is where I know that God is the author of Bible because no man who start off with, ‘humble themselves’. Man original sin was pride, Genesis 3: 5, “God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall BE AS GODS, knowing good and evil.” This is pride in the raw. The devil throw a piece of bait that was already in man’s heart, to like God. The devil saw the same spirit in man that he had in himself. We can go all over the Bible and see where God brings down the prideful, God even thinks it’s an abomination to have a haughty and prideful look, Proverbs 6: 16, 17 and 16: 18.

No matter how you slice it humbling yourself means to bring yourself under someone else’s authority. When we humble ourselves under God’s Sovereignty we are telling Him that His Will is best for us. One definition for humble is to be vanquished, this means to overcome in a battle or to come under mastery. This is our will being overcome and mastered by God, the Lord and Master of all.

Pray, without getting to deep; How can you know the Will of God if you don’t talk to Him? As I write article the Lord is convicting me about my Prayer Life. I have some good excuses about why my Prayer Life has been lacking but for the same reasons why are the reasons why I should be doubling up on my prayers. I have been asking God what’s going on but going back to get an answer. Not because I don’t want to know the answer but just plain laziness. I have gone to the Throne of Grace is some help in times of need and have thanked Him for His unmerited divine assistance but that’s about it. I have hit the altar at church but for someone in my position that is just not enough.

Lord, forgive me for not using the Way you gave me to commune with you. You stepped out of eternity into sinful flesh and allow us to nail you that old rugged cross for redemption sake. Lord you called me out of darkness into Your Light to give Your Word and because of some trifling little trials that You had Your Righteous Hand all over I have allowed them to hang my head in defeat. Lord, You are the Overcomer, Victory is in You, the Move of the Holy Spirit is in Christ. Lord, I use these time to reconnect my faith in You, in Christ. I give You, LORD God, all the Glory and all the Praise, in the name Jesus, my Lord, my Saviour, Lover of my soul. Amen.

In the answering of Solomon’s prayer the LORD God gave the king a Word that is not to be taken lightly. We know that 2 Chronicles 7: 14 in one the Bible’s notable quotable, but we must not say it on the fly nor whim and think it makes us look more Christ-like because we can say it with some authority. Let us remember these are not just the Word of God but the Words from the mouth of the LORD God.

We must start off with King Solomon being pleased after he dedicated the temple and his palace to the LORD with much Praise & Worship and offering up burnt offerings to the God of Israel, verses 1- 11. From verse 12- 22 we have the LORD God giving a promise with a warning and if you will allow me to expound upon certain verses I think we can pull this Word into our lives today.

“I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.” says the LORD in verse 12, if you are Blood Bought Christian than you know this is speaking directing to us. We know that God is faithful in hearing our prayers when we pray in the name of Jesus. When the God said that ‘He has heard your prayer…’, in the Hebrew the prayer is the same as entreaty, supplication and hymn. We must know that our prayers are heard by God in the form of meditation in our prayer closet and singing a hymn of praise.

We have God saying that He has chosen the temple as house of sacrifice, which means that when Israel makes offering to the LORD this is where their God will meet them and hear them. To be chosen in the Hebrew means that you have looked at it from all angles and found it to be acceptable for your purposes. What a wonderful thing for the Creator of all to look at your handy work and think that He finds it acceptable for His Purpose. Now if that ain’t a time to say ‘Hallelujah’ I don’t know of one.

I want us to look at the New Testament for a second to show how we are accepted in the Eye of the God through Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 2: 9, “But you are a CHOSEN race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who CALLED you out of the darkness in the marvelous light;”, the two word of importance are; chosen and called. These two words in the Greek give us a deeper understanding of just who we are in Christ; chosen carries the mind state that we were preferred and picked out of many and called gives the impression of a divine invitation to participate in the blessings of redemption. Don’ miss another time to shout, if we are chosen and called this means that God the Righteous Judge saw us in our sin-filled condition and still said, “There enough desire for Me in this one to redeem for Myself because out of their life I will get Glory.”

Now I want to start at verse 14 but I still want to take my time and let the Word of God’s Mouth minister to our heart. God starts off with another sect of condition that we can’t miss. “If My people, which are called by My name,…” stop. Are you a son of God? Have you been adopted into the Beloved? Are you a Christian: at home, at work, at the bar, catting around with your little side thing, rolling up a fatty? Let’s dip into the Hebrew to get a better look at the phase ‘which are called by My name’. If you have done a little bit of study in the Old Testament you will see that all the nation that were around the Children of Israel knew that their God wasn’t a god to be played with. Everybody knew that the God of Israel brought them out of Egypt with a high hand, held back the waters of the Red Sea, and went to war for them. The problem was Israel had a bad case of amnesia.
