Luke 10: 30- 34

We know this as being the Parable of the Good Samaritan but there is something inside of this story that the Lord dropped into my heart and it won’t let me go. As I often do when driving I listen to many different radio ministries, there one in particular; “Love Worth Finding” with the late Dr. Adrian Rodgers. Dr. Rodgers was delivering the Word when he made mention of this parable. He said something about Jerusalem being the place of God and Jericho being the place of the things of this world, and the Holy Spirit started dealing with me about how mankind is constantly going away from HIM.

Since the original fall in the Garden, man has been running from the Presence of the LORD. Genesis 3: 8- 10, Adam and Eve heard the Voice of the LORD, got scared and hid themselves. This has been our main problem, running away from the Lord. If we could only get this simple fact in our hearts, God loves us and while we were in sin, Christ died. God has made away for us to come back to Him and the Lord Jesus is the Way to the Father. Noah tried to run from the Presence of the LORD and found himself in the belly of a fish. This is a lesson to all of the Father’s children, whenever we leave the Lord’s side we will always find ourselves in the weirdest places.

Fun Facts: Jerusalem is 2,067 ft. above sea level and Jericho is 853 ft. above sea level. So it would stand to reason that while leaving Jerusalem to Jericho it would be a downhill journey. As it would be if we would leave the Presence of the LORD.

The main reason why this verse just speaks to me is because this is man’s condition in the world. We do something that causes us to leave the Lord and we come into connect with people that don’t mean us any good. They take what is precious to us which leaves us feeling naked and ashamed. We incur affliction that some can see but most don’t. And after the world has gotten what they want from us, they leave us with this hollow and empty feeling. Sound familiar?

But thank God this is not how the story has to end because verses thirty- three and thirty- four is where the Lord Jesus steps into the picture and makes everything all right which is God’s Plan of Salvation. Look at the priest who represents somebody familiar with the ceremonies of church, the Levite who represents the law. The only thing the law can doing is look for offenses to it. When someone has become good at doing the church thing they will aways run from the fire of their brother or sister’s trial like the priest did.

Here in verse thirty- three we have God laying down His Majesty and coming down to meet us at our need, “… came where he was…” What a might God we serve, He came to where we were and cared for us like no one else would or could.

There is no other god that can claim to have done what the Lord GOD has done for us, when we place our faith in the Lord Jesus. God is so faithfully, even when we try and run from His Presence.

Mark 5: 1- 20
The story of the demoniac of the Gadarene is one those Bible stories that you either get or you don’t get and I get it. Whenever I see a store that says that they sell beer, wine and spirits all I see is the fact that they sell unclean spirits. God bless you if you are one those people that can drink one beer or whatever and be alright, but if you are one of ones that know better this ones for us. This is going to meat straight off the bone, probably with some bone in it. So just chew on the meat and spit the bones out.

The first thing I want to empress on us is; how are we living? When Jesus and his disciples came into town and were immediately met the man with the unclean spirits. This man was not in his right mind nor was he living in the right place or hanging with the right people. I’m going to put this into language that we can understand. Jesus found a man drunk, hanging on the corner with people that were dead in the body and ambition. This man was in and out of jail and out-patient clinics, all the love and interventions could not get through to the man. The brother would sit up late in the night, crying and try his hardest not to go back to the bottle. I personally know how it feels to want not drink liquor and hit drugs anymore but not knowing how to stop. Family and friends would tell me, “Just pray harder and stop hanging with those nobodies over their.” But see if it was that easy then why would we need the Blood of the Lord to run into our lives.

Verse six is my favorite, “BUT when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped Him.” But is a word that cancels out every word prior to it and allow every word after to be the main focus of the episode. The man did three things that prove he didn’t want to be like this, he saw Jesus afar off, stop right there. When you are under the influences of spirits they control your mind and vision but when they come into contact with an spirit that is more powerful then they are they lay down. The man was whipping folk left and right but when he saw Jesus coming down the street, but when he saw the Lord heading his way, but when he saw the Saviour coming down the aisle, he got up and ran. This is ‘Faith in Motion’. The brother saw Jesus coming by here O’ Lord, so he ran to meet Him and began to worship at the Feet of the Master.

Now during the man worshiping of the Son of the Most High, the unclean spirit knew that their time had come and wanted to leave the man. Now after Legion left what happen to the man? In King James Version it states clearly, “… sitting and clothed, and in his right mind:…” Here’s the beauty of the Jesus that I serve, the phrase ‘in his right mind’ in the Greek are formed out of two words but they make one word in the Greek which mean ‘gift of Jehovah’. After we come into a relationship with the Lord Jesus, He sits us down next to Him, clothes us in His Righteousness, then give us a gift that makes the world scared of us.

The world doesn’t want around Jesus because he messes up their money flow. Verses seventeen and eighteen are the verses we are living in today and if we are smart we will see how to deal with people that don’t want us. And the last phrase of eighteen along with nineteen and twenty are how we should act once we have be changed with our encounter with the Master. Is there anybody that when you tell your story to they marvel? You could be telling it wrong or you have not been changed, yet. The man from Decapolis was probably one of those brother that just couldn’t stop talking about the day he met Jesus of Nazareth. I know for a fact that if he was married his wife would have the real story for you. If you don’t believe me ask my wife.

My Beloved, we are dry, dusty bones. How much life are we living without Jesus? Back in the days, strapped w/ a .357 magnum, high as a mink coat, drinking like a fish, & running the streets; I was looking for a grave to die in, yeah I wasn’t asking for it, but I was acting like it. You don’t have to be this mean, but you do have this in you. My dry bones are on you & yours are on mine, scattered & exposed for the entire world to see. But the only One that truly cares is God, John 3:16 is not just a Bible quotable, it is the straight truth from on HIGH. Please understand that only the Agape Love of God the Father and Jesus the Son can bring us back to life or just give us life.

While Jesus was on the cross, He look through time & said, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” You might thing He was just talking about the ones that were disrespect Him, but he was talking about me & you. God deals w/ our future, man deals w/ the present, & the devil deals w/ our past. Ezekiel 37: 4&9, God said, “Prophesy unto the bones…/ Prophesy unto the wind…” Live that prophesy, feel the Holy Spirit, Live! Get out this death, no I’m not talking about HipHop, I’m talking about that Sin Nature lifestyle. That’s older than HipHop, Rock N Roll, Jazz, & Gospel Music; you can not serve two masters. You can’t serve two masters, I’ve tried it, it can’t be done, and you will go crazy, insane. God will give you a sense of what you are doing. Please I beg of you don’t fall in to the mind state that you can beat the system.

Verse 14 states very firmly, God shall put His Spirit into us & put us in our own land. What can be better than that? But then again what would you expect from Our Heavenly Father that laid down His deity to save a wretch like we.

My Brothers and Sisters, how alive are we when we live like dead people or some of us use to live like old people; I’ve buried more my homies than a 70 year old man. Now being spiritually dead is to be disconnected from God. Who is giving the appearance of being dead better than us? We tend to look at intelligence as being white. We drink alcohol like it was straight from the Fountain of Youth. We take drugs like we are so sick; weed is a cure all, syrup/lean/drink is strong cough syrup which is a large muscle group relaxer; your heart is a large muscle, ‘X’ rises your internal thermometer that’s that great feeling you get; compound that with being in an enclosed space without good ventilation does that sound like a fun time or what?, & as far as toting that thing, a gun is for one thing & one thing only to kill someone, if that person doesn’t die from the bullet that safe, sane feeling does. Do I have to talk about sex or do we get the point?

Those that don’t know & some that do want to blame the music because HipHop for that most part makes a great argument for the other side. But the realness of the matter is Hosea 4:6; we have forgotten God & his ways. To pull a little from this book, we are Gomer, we are whores, and we will sell ourselves to the highest bidder. Think about it, when was the last time you put yourself in the streets, just think about it. A whore is somebody that sells their body for money, goods, or services.

To all the dry bones, how much longer are we going to let the thief kill, steal, & destroy us & let Jesus be our Savior? He wants to save us, He want to give us life & life more abundantly. Yes it seem hard, yes you are thinking that you are going to be giving up a life of fun. But how much fun are you really having?

To Be Continued

First off I must make this statement; when I say HipHop I mean those of us that came up listening to HipHop Muzik: Ole School & New School. We started off in a lifestyle that nobody wanted & now everybody uses us to sell something. And many of us have been used up to our bones & after they’re finished with us they just throw us away or back in the valley: project housing, jails, & relationships of convenience.

Ezekiel 37:1-14, rings in my ears that we are them dry bones scattered in the valley separated from the own parts. We act like our legs are not connected w/ ours bodies because we will go & kick w/ any old body. We use our sex organ far pass what God intended them for. We full our bellies w/ garbage & wonder why they are swollen w/ nothing/mess. Our hearts are filled w/ so much hatred that it overflows from our mouths. We fill our eyes w/ Ungodly visions till our mind state is so twisted we can’t think straight. And our arms & hands are used to push God away & hold on to the devil & his ways so tight that we have caught our clothes on fire so that we go naked in the street. We are so proud of being dead that we sing songs about it. Understand that this is not to bash anybody because one truck bangers [a song that when it comes on while I’m driver I turn it up & straight vibing off of it] are Jay-Z’s “30 Something” & Pastor Bruce Parham “Hide Me”. So when I say we I mean WE.

Let’s start w/ breaking down the title, The Valley of Dry Bones. A valley is low land area visible by from all side. Dry is directed towards our spiritually condition. The term bone helps to show just how dead we are without Christ in our lives. If you haven’t made the connection, Ezekiel is a shadow of Jesus & the breath of the Lord is the Holy Spirit. It might seem harsh to call ourselves not just spiritually dead but on the way to being physically dead, but know that this is true. We need Jesus in our lives to bring us out of the grave.

Our Homecoming
The Prodigal Son was living high on the hog Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but come Monday he was feeding the hogs. He is the son of a king, use to all the finest things in life and he found himself eating hog slop/trash just to stop the rumbling in his tummy. Can you think about cutting off the mold the food just to eat tonight, walking through the Supermarket waiting for your time to do a little ‘five finger discounting’, or flipping one more ‘trick’ just to get little money together.

For some that stopped when the thought came to mind, but the rest of us that went there with it, we realized that our Father can bring us out of this hellish lifestyle like the Prodigal Son. For the Prodigal Son while eating trash, proud was not an option. Proud had left with the money and friends. Do you think he came to sense; when he was eating, getting that sour feeling in his stomach, or that burning feeling from his backsides, where he thought of his father’s servant, verse 17.

Understand this, we all have ingested the trash of this world, but that doesn’t disqualify us from being our heavenly Father’s servant. Because He’s looking for us with compassion and mercy in His eyes, verse 20. If you didn’t catch it verse 21 is, in some variation, everybody’s prayer that wants to be Saved.

By Father’s Day give your Heavenly Father the gift of you, all of you. Stop worrying about how you’ll, cause verses 22-24 is the thing that matters to our Father.

Luke15: 11-32. This is one of the most well-known parables of Jesus Christ. I can remember it from Sunday School as a young child. But all it every said to me was the younger son had a forgiving father. But after I became a prodigal son I understood of more and more.

The prodigal means riotous, debase, and extravagant life/living. This is the condition of the world at large. When we get a little bit of money we want freedom to do our own thing. But it’s really is not our thing, we are following the pattern of the world, Ephesians2: 2. You must understand the world is ready for us. Ready to use us, misuse us, and abuse us in a moment’s time. Because on e of the constituent thoughts, “It will never happen to me, I have all the angles worked out.”
